Highcliffe says goodbye to Mr Singh

At the end of the Spring Term, Highcliffe Primary School came together to celebrate the remarkable legacy of Mr Singh, who retired in April after 21 years of dedicated service as Premises Officer. Mr Singh's departure marks the end of an era, leaving behind a profound impact on our school and community.

On Wednesday, April 2nd, the entire school gathered for a special assembly to honour Mr Singh. Dressed in red and singing ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ - a tribute to his beloved Liverpool FC - students and staff alike paid homage to a man whose dedication has been nothing short of inspiring. Former colleagues joined the celebration, underscoring the significant role he has played in shaping Highcliffe.

Throughout his tenure, Mr Singh was the backbone of our school, ensuring that the buildings and grounds were always safe, clean, and welcoming. His tireless efforts were pivotal in overseeing key developments, including the construction of the new Greengate Building.

But Mr Singh's influence extended far beyond his daily duties. He spearheaded the ‘Mini Premises Team’ initiative, encouraging pupils to take pride in their school through activities like litter-picking and maintaining tidy areas. This initiative not only kept our school beautiful but also instilled a sense of responsibility and community spirit in our pupils.

In 2023, Mr Singh's exceptional contributions were recognised with a Heart Award from the Lionheart Educational Trust, winning in the ‘Positive’ category. This accolade was a testament to his kindness, patience and unwavering encouragement.

Mr Singh's warmth and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by all at Highcliffe; we extend our heartfelt gratitude to him for his years of service and wish him a happy and fulfilling retirement.
