Highcliffe rocks
A host of wannabe rockstars recently descended upon Highcliffe Primary School, as staff and pupils ditched their regular uniforms and donned leather jackets and sunglasses as part of Rock Kidz Day.Currently touring the UK, Rock Kidz are an organisation that go into primary schools and host informative workshops that raise the profile of wellbeing and PSHE through the power of music.
The school hall was transformed into a rock concert venue, where all our pupils congregated. Once together, they learned a song that celebrated how we are all unique and recited the affirmation phrase YASBA (You’re Awesome So Be Awesome).
Then, it was time for battle to commence, as pupils faced off against their teachers in a series of dance and air guitar battles!
The children had an absolute blast. Not only did they enjoy rocking around the Hall, but they also learned about the importance of physical and mental wellbeing, knowledge that will support them both inside and outside of school.
A huge thank you to Rock Kidz on Tour for coming into our school to meet our pupils.
